Who doesn’t a backyard get-together to celebrate summer with family and friends? And nothing compliments a summer celebration than a refreshing drink. One of my all-time summer drinks is a nice chilled Sangria – any type of Sangria will do. They’re easy to make and oh so delicious. Here’s an easy recipe for a White Wine Sangria to whip up for your next backyard get-together.
White Wine Sangria Recipe:
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 sliced white peach
5 sliced strawberries
1 sliced lemon
1 sliced lime (plus extra for garnish)
1/2 cup whiskey (Collingwood Whisky used)
1/4 cup sugar
1 bottle dry white wine (Jackson Triggs used)
1 can of sparkling water (Perrier used)
Combine the whiskey and sugar and whisk to dissolve and combine.
Pour the whiskey into your pitcher.
Add your sliced fruit and wine into your pitcher and stir to combine.
Let your fruit and booze mixture sit in the fridge for a minimum of 3 hours.
Before serving, add some ice to your glasses. (Note: If you add ice to the pitcher, it will water down your sangria)
Pour the sangria into your glasses and top with some sparkling water.
