Some new Movable Type Plugins

It's obvious that I use and like Movable Type but it doesn't stop me from occasionally taking a look at what other blogging tools are out there though. I recently setup WordPress and took it for a test drive. I have to say, I was very impressed. What was particularly nice was the functionality that was there right out of the box - simple, but nice touches like "Edit This" links for admins there by default. I'm hopeful that the long awaited Movable Type 3 will follow this lead.

In the meantime, those of us who have been adding this functionality in a variety of ways now have a plugin option -MT Plugin Directory: AdminLinks.

Also new and nice in the MT Plugins directory this morning is Phil Ringnalda's Prev Next in Category plugin. Unlike a previous plugin of a similar name, this one allows you to start browsing through a particular category outside of the category archives.

Finally, the Recent Images plugin allows you to pull up a list of the last "n" images posted to your weblog. Perfect for photologs.
