Pageflakes gets a nice, new look

When Pageflakes first appeared on the scene, I was impressed. Somehow though, in my never ending quest for better information management, I drifted to Netvibes. Hearing that Pageflakes had an update prompted me to return to have another look. All I can say is "Wow".

Not only is the new Pageflakes look great, but the 'feel' is just as good. Solid and quick. I'm particularly impressed with the way RSS Feeds are handled. By default, clicking on a item in a displayed feed, opens up the Pageflakes RSS Reader, which offers either a 3-panel Outlook style feed view or a Newspaper view. Each feed can also be set individually to open the original page in your browser or in Pageflakes internal browser.

Other added features include the ability to share pages with the public or with only certain users and 'templates', which are pre-configured pages with items of different themes (entertainment, sports, digg etc).

If you haven't checked out Pageflakes lately, it's worth another look.
