Local Contrast Enhancement: how to remove haze from your digital photos

The Contrast Enhancement technique is one that every digital photographer should have in their post-processing toolbox.

The technique involves using the Unsharp Mask Tool (in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or the GIMP) and does a great job with a lot of photos that are lacking "punch".
