NEWS! From etc.

newnews.jpg When I started etc. back in 2002, it was really just for my reference - a place to keep links to web design and development resources. I never intended etc. to be of much interest to anyone else (hence why it lives in a sub/sub directory!). Back then, I was on a mission to teach myself HTML and CSS and learn to design and develop web sites. I'm pleased to say that, along the way, I actually did learn it :) But of course, the learning never ends. There is always something new, exciting or interesting to challenge us, so etc. has continued on. And since then, thousands of readers have followed along.

Over the past summer, I have been debating what I should do with etc. The web dev/design world has changed a lot in the past 7 years. There number of "great links" out there continues to grow each day and I realized a while back I couldn't post each of them in a separate entry. I started doing posts that included a bunch of links in one post but was never really happy with that. I started wondering if it wasn't a better idea to start over with a new domain and a new format that made for easier browsing of resources.

And so ... DevDesign Digest was born, sort of an etc. continued. I hope you'll follow me over there and grab the RSS Feed.

Don't get rid of your etc. feed/bookmark though. I'm going to be re-inventing etc. as a quick-reference for web design and development resources. As for daily links though, I'll be posting them on DevDesign Digest so I hope to see you there!
