DecentURL.com will take any ugly web address and make it much nicer. Just supply the ugly url and it will output a decent one for you to use.
URL redirection is far from a novel idea – there are at least 41 other services that do it. As far as I can tell, however, those sites all focus on making long addresses short. DecentURL can make URLs short too, but its primary goal is to make them decent. Teach ’em some manners.
A nice feature of DecentURL is that it will automatically grab the title of the page and use it to make the DecentURL (just leave the Decent title box blank and let DecentURL grab it for you).

FlauntR has just launched as an alpha release, offering two photo tools - PhotostylR and PhotoeditR.
Built on the flex platform these two tools offer basic image editing online, as well as one-click effects throughPhotostylR.

After taking it for a spin, I think it's a great tool for those that aren't interested in using a standalone program like Photoshop to edit photos. The photo editing tools in photoeditR offer slider controls to control the editing, but I missed having them in the photostylR program. I'd love a way to control the amount of effect, particularly on some of the color and light effects.
The interface of flauntR is nice and very intuitive, offering little to no "learning" required to use it. Looks like it will develop in to a great online tool for photo editing and styling and definitely worth checking out for anyone looking for an online photo editing tool.

It took a few minutes of playing with it to really see how this could be useful. In my case, it's a perfect solution for collecting links that I find during the day but won't be posting right away (rather than cluttering up my bookmarks folder). It would also be an excellent tool for collecting resources for research or short-term projects. Because you can make a number of feedmarklets, you can make several for different subject areas (favourite photos on Flickr or videos on YouTube etc.) Of course, this wouldn't replace something like del.icio.us as a permanent bookmarking solution but I think there are certainly uses for it.

Eight Ways to Quickly Resize Images
Image resizing tools aren't just for people who don't have Photoshop, or the non tech savvy. I often take screen capture snippets for posting to this blog and if they exceed the width of my content area, I need to resize them. And I don't want to open up Photoshop (or another image program) to do it. Call me impatient or lazy or whatever, but that just seems like killing a fly with a hammer.
So, with that in mind, here are 8 ways to quickly resize images ...

ASCII-O-Matic
- just because it's fun.
Quickmaps
quikmaps.com - maps for the masses - doodle up a google map. Ideal tool for drawing a map to your house or planning a route or just pointing out where something is/was/should be.
Reliable, low-priced online storage
JungleDisk - Reliable online storage powered by Amazon S3™ - online storage service that charges 15 cents per gig, with no set-up or monthly fees. I'm often not big on paying for things ;), but if I was going to use an online backup/storage system I'd want to pay something to be sure my stuff was safe and the service would be around for a while.
