I love cheesecake. When I think of what dessert I can make that is a special treat, my mind always goes to cheesecake. There is just something about that velvety smooth texture and tangy, sweet taste. Not to mention the endless number of toppings that can be used with it!
I have a couple of cheesecake recipes here on Food & Family. The best cheesecake bite I have enjoyed was this Lovely Lemon Cheesecake. It is a baked cheesecake with a layer of lemon curd on top. The combination is hard to beat and it’s a classic that everyone enjoys.
When I’m looking for a little more casual, quick and easy cheesecake treat, I turn to my recipe for these cute No-Bake Cherry Cheesecakes in a Jar. The individual servings are perfect for grabbing for a treat anytime and the no-bake cheesecake is easy enough for my kids to make!(Pictured above)
I’m joining with The Real Women of Kraft Philadelphia in helping them search for the Philadelphia Cheesecake of the Year. Starting June 2, 2014, chefs and bakers (including you!), will be able to submit your favourite cheesecake recipe and photos, for a chance to become a national cheesecake sensation and receive $5,000!
The Philadelphia Cheesecake of the Year Contest runs until 6pm ET on Monday, June 16, 2014. The first 250 eligible entries will receive a FREE brick of Philadelphia Cream Cheese. As for the contest itself, the top 5 finalists will be flown round-trip to Toronto for the Cheesecake of the Year bake-off at the Kraft Kitchens. From there, 1 grand prize winner will be chosen from among the finalists to receive $5,000 and the title of the 2014 Cheesecake of the Year. The winner will also be featured in a national print campaign.
So what are you waiting for?! To enter, you need to submit the following:
1) Your original festive cheesecake recipe, made with Philadelphia Brick Cream Cheese
2) A photo of your finished cheesecake
Entries will be judged by a panel of Kraft judges, based on their selected criteria. Full contest terms and condition, as well as the full contest details and rules are available online.
So head on over and visit the Philly Canada website to learn more and enter!
